An experimental approach to produce hydrogen from food waste, cow dung

2021/1/1/ · The effect of substrate (food waste and cow dung) and inoculum (sludge solution) ratio on the hydrogen fermentation is experimentally investigated in this study. Five reactors are prepared using various ratios of substrate and inoculum on volume basis and the hydrogen (H 2 ) and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) generation is observed for 15 days.

2020/4/16/ · At medium temperature, the biogas output per unit of pig manure/corn straw is better than that of cow manure/corn straw. When the ratio of pig manure to corn straw is 9:1, the maximum gas production is 283.74 mL/g TS; when the ratio of cow manure to corn straw is 7:3, the minimum gas production is 121.59 mL/g TS.

Four sets of 250 ml conical flasks (A-D), each containing two flasks, were used in triplicates as digesters to determine the possibility of laboratory-scale biogas production from cow dung under four different treatments. Equal volumes of slurry (3 g dung: 10 cm3 water) in the digesters were subjected to anaerobic digestion over a four-week retention period,
